The charge also includes allegations of robbery, burglary and kidnapping in the death of Sally Blackwell, 53, on March 15, 2006.
Stephen Tyler, Victoria County criminal district attorney, said Tuesday he decided to add the aggravated sexual assault count after talking with the medical examiner about Blackwell’s injuries.
Blackwell was reported missing on March 14, 2006, after she failed to show up for work at her part-time counseling job. Her body was found the next day in a pasture on Hanselman Road in rural Victoria County, about 10 feet from the roadway, according to police reports.
In all three counts in the original indictment, a rope was identified as the weapon that killed Blackwell.
Tyler said he expects Grimsinger, 24, to go to trial after Christmas. Grimsinger has filed a motion to defend himself, and Judge Skipper Koetter will have to decide on that motion, Tyler said.
Koetter will have to determine Grimsinger’s competency to serve as his own counsel, Tyler said
