On Monday, the Lavaca County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to reinstate the ban that had been lifted two weeks ago. The first ban had been ordered on June 20 before being lifted on July 14.
Continuing dry conditions is the reason for the reinstatement of the ban. Violation of the order restricting outdoor burning is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.
