Black water continues to drain from the marsh. A few redfish were taken near the mouth of the river on Gulps and soft plastics. Warning: A low-lying power line is crossing Red’s Bayou about four feet above the water and is hard to see. Mariners should beware. The line is about half-mile from the mouth of the bayou leading to the bay.
EAST GALVESTON BAY
There is no access to East Bay from Bolivar. Few anglers have ventured to the bay since the storm.
WEST GALVESTON BAY
Officials are not allowing boats to launch from Galveston as a security measure against looting.
TEXAS CITY
The Texas City Dike received damage and anglers are not being allowed access.
FREEPORT
Bull redfish are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs.
EAST MATAGORDA
Fishing has been fair at best. East winds have muddied the bay. Redfish are fair to good while wading tight to the shoreline on gold spoons and small topwaters.
MATAGORDA
Trout are fair on the south shoreline of West Bay over sand and grass on Bass Assassins, Sand Eels and Trout Killers. Redfish are good in Oyster Lake on live shrimp.
PORT O'CONNOR
Redfish are good in the back lakes on small topwaters and live shrimp under a popping cork. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs, finger mullet and live shrimp.
ROCKPORT
Bull redfish are fair to good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs and table shrimp. Redfish have been taken in the back lakes on natural baits and topwaters.
PORT ARANSAS
Bull redfish are good in the surf on crabs, finger mullet, cut-bait and fresh table shrimp. Redfish are good for wader around the East Flats on topwaters and soft plastics under popping corks.
CORPUS CHRISTI
Trout are fair to good from the piers at night on live bait. Redfish are fair to good in the lakes on live shrimp under a popping cork.
BAFFIN BAY
Good catches of trout have been taken under lights at night in the Land Cut on live shrimp and glow plastics. Trout are fair around the rocks on soft plastics.
