WHARTON – Three garbage disposal companies submitted bids Thursday to replace the city’s current provider when its contract expires at the end of September.

The city council sent bids from Allied Waste Service, WCA Waste Corporation and Waste Management to its finance subcommittee where the bids will be reviewed.

The subcommittee will then choose which bid to present to the city for approval.

The company with the winning bid will begin collecting the city’s trash after the contract with Waste Management ends on Sept. 30.
