Goliad’s Clemons, Edna’s Thompson sign letters of intent

Goliad’s Amanda Clemons and Edna’s Dustin Thompson will continue their track and field careers on the college level.Clemons has signed a letter of intent to attend Abilene Christian University and Thompson has signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Clemons was the the female athlete of the year on the Advocate’s all-area track and field team after winning the Class 3A long jump at the state meet. She also placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Thompson was named to the all-area team in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Thompson finished sixth in the Class 2A 100 and seventh in the 2A 200 at the state meet.
