Sail boat capsizes, Coast Guard rescues boaters

PALACIOS – A 20-foot sail boat capsized with six persons on board Saturday according to the United States Coast Guard, all were wearing personal flotation devices. Four of them swam safely to an offshore platform while the other two were carried away by the current. These two were picked up by the Coast Guard and taken to Palacios Community Medical Center with no injuries reported. The platform is five miles off shore and 25 miles north east of Port O’connor.
