A Goliad County Sheriff's vehicle was in a minor car accident Tuesday morning in the greater Houston area.Deputy W.O. Williamson, the jail administrator of Goliad, was transporting a prisoner to another facility in the Houston area at around 7 a.m., Goliad Sheriff Kirby Brumby said. more >>

GOLIAD - On a Sunday morning in November, the Rev. Laura Becker of First United Methodist Church of Goliad shared the Parable of Talents with the children in her congregation. Found in the Gospel of Matthew, the parable is the story of a man who leaves three of his servants a sum of money when he goes on a trip. Two of the servants take the money and double it, while the third hides it in the ground. Goliad County Library digitizes historical pictures

GOLIAD - A few weeks ago, Mary Glassmann contacted the Goliad County Library. She wanted to know whether her long-lost grandfather, Charles Talbot, had lived in Goliad several decades ago. Through some research, Robin Barnhill, chairman of the library's board, soon discovered that a man named Charles Talbot was a Goliad resident for 30 years until his death in 1968. She also found an old photograph featuring Talbot, and sent a copy of it to Glassmann. more >>
