George Steven Kuhel, 38, Matthew Aaron Moore, 26, Joni Dial, 18, Christopher Heard, 33, Corey Bryant, 23, and Lorri Shelley Woodall, 28, were arrested at a house on the 100 block of Hilltop Drive early Thursday morning. An arrest report did not list addresses for the suspects, but Captain Herb Tucker said some of them lived in the house. All six live in Victoria County, he said.
The house and yard reeked, Tucker said. One suspect went inside, offering a glimpse of what looked like a meth lab through the doorway, Tucker said.
The Victoria Fire Department decontaminated the suspects outside the Victoria County jail, Battalion Chief Roger Hempel said. One Victoria police officer and several deputies were also scrubbed of toxic chemicals, Hempel said.
“The chemical they use to cook the stuff is hazardous,” Hempel said. People exposed to methamphetamine labs can suffer from chemical burns or lung problems, he said.
The lab itself no longer poses a threat, Tucker said. Deputies took a pitcher of meth still mixed with the liquid in which it was cooked, Tucker said. Lab results will reveal how much methamphetamine was seized.
