Victoria Crime Stoppers and the Victoria Police Department are seeking information about the theft of a wallet on May 8.
Police investigation shows that at about 7:30 p.m., in a store on North Main Street an unidentified woman shown in store surveillance video took a wallet that did not belong to her. The victim had set her wallet on the counter while paying for purchases, then walked out without it.
The suspect took the wallet and checked to see if the victim had left. She then acted as though the wallet were hers, taking it with her when she left the store.
Several unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s credit card in various department stores over the next several days.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic female, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall with dark hair in a pony tail. She was seen shopping with a child.
