Sex-assault trial begins

The trial of a 41-year-old Austin man accused of sexually assaulting a girl started Tuesday.A jury heard opening arguments and testimony in Daniel Alvarado’s trial on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and indecency with a child.
Alvarado is accused of assaulting the girl in October of 2006, according to the indictment.
Testimony is scheduled to continue tomorrow in District Judge Robert Cheshire’s courtroom.
